Approach

Restoring nature and soil, preserving a natural area and promoting the transition to a more regenerative society. How to do that?

We do this by combining ecological rewilding with human rewilding. By designing landscapes, accommodations, experiences, and organizations in a regenerative way, we create an environment where nature can recover, people can learn through experience, and connections can be reestablished. With themselves, with each other, and with the natural world. This Approach on four pillars:

1

Ecological rewilding

We develop landscapes where at least 10 hectares of new, wild nature can be created. Together with ecologists, we work with natural processes as our starting point and only intervene where necessary. We monitor the development of soil and biodiversity. The permanent preservation of the landscape is guaranteed by statute.

Personal rewilding

2

We reconnect people with nature, themselves, and each other, in a contemporary context. In our regenerative environment, we offer in-depth experiences rather than quick fixes. By slowing down, engaging the senses, and learning through doing and experiencing, we create space for personal recovery and lasting change. We appeal to the head, hands, and heart, allowing people to rediscover that they are part of nature.

Education through Inspiration & Experience

3

We make regenerative principles understandable and applicable through inspiration and experience. We connect with different levels of consciousness and let people experience regeneration rather than just explaining it. Through workshops, programs, and residential experiences, we offer insight and practical tools that support people in making conscious choices, thereby contributing to nature restoration and a regenerative society.

Connection & Community

4

Connecting with and between guests and local residents is essential to us, and we consciously encourage this. By actively involving local entrepreneurs and residents in the development of VELD, and by offering facilities and activities that appeal to both residents and travelers, encounters between travelers and the region are created. In this way, we encourage a connected community that is involved in both the development and the experience of the place, and we build commitment to a regenerative future, locally and more broadly.

The Network

Establishing a network of regenerative recreation sites such as VELD provides a unique opportunity to support regenerative entrepreneurship and increase our collective impact. This network not only strengthens the position of VELD, but also accelerates the transition to a regenerative society. Together we are stronger! It is not about scaling up one place, but about creating a bigger picture: a network of smaller, independent businesses that support each other where necessary.

When VELD starts distributing profits, it will be possible to invest part of those profits in the development of new regenerative recreation sites. In this way, the network grows and we increase our collective impact - within the boundaries of VELD and beyond. In doing so, we use our accumulated experience and expertise to support other initiatives.

This network is valuable for everyone: for entrepreneurs, it provides access to collaboration and knowledge sharing, while visitors have the opportunity to discover other authentic and regenerative places. A true win-win, where together we build a more sustainable and regenerative future.
