Our Plans

With VELD , we VELD together the restoration of people and nature—in one place where they reinforce each other.

In Maurik, we plan to carry out this project on the former “Anker West” factory site. At this special location in the floodplains, riverine nature will once again be given the space to thrive. We are restoring biodiversity and making the landscape accessible to everyone—residents and visitors alike.

Not as a mass tourist destination, but as a place with small-scale lodging, public walking trails, and a varied program of activities, educational opportunities, and social gatherings. Think of an educational vegetable garden, workshops for schools, a terrace, and a space for cooking together—for visitors from outside the area as well as for local residents.

We are Veerle and Anne-Marijn, the driving forces behind VELD.

We work hard every day to make this place a success, but we also know we can’t do it alone. Community involvement is essential to us—not only for VELD success, but also because we believe a place only truly becomes meaningful when people build it together.

Do you have any questions, comments, or ideas? We'd love to hear from you via our contact page.

Open House Events

On May 20, the first open house was held for immediate neighbors and interested members of the public. We can look back on a very successful event.

In the future, we'll be organizing more meetings and meet-and-greets. Would you like to stay informed about these events? Sign up for the newsletter now.
